Mad Hatter Recipe Party

Tami & I started a recipe group and it has been so much fun! Tami had it at her house this month and the theme was “Halloween Favorites” it was also a Mad Hatter party. Everyone had fun hats on. I don’t have pictures to post yet of the group but I hope to have one soon. Any way, I died when I saw Tami’s hat. She made it herself and it is amazing. Check it out. It is so magical. She is going to wear it on Halloween and she is going to be “Mother Nature”. Her kids are going to be different kinds of Vegetables!! So dang cute!

NieNie is going to be on OPRAH tomorrow!

I, like many of you, have followed the story of NieNie for a long time now. My friends and I were so sad when we missed the hike up to the “Y” on the mountain with NieNie. She is going to be on Oprah tomorrow. I hope to meet her one day! She is such an amazing, inspirational woman.

This blows me away! UNBELIEVEABLE!

I wish I could have been in Chicago for this. So Awesome!

Child Drowning Incident

 

We were at the pool the other day and I was talking with my friend and I looked over and saw Sawyer looking down at something in the water. I walked over to see what he was looking at and there was a small toddler head down in the water with its feet floating at the top. The child was limp and not moving at all. I leaned over and grabbed the childs foot and started to get them out of the pool, when a woman said to me quietly “it is not real”. I stared down at the small child only to realize it was a doll. It was the size of a 3 year old child and it had hair and a swim suit on and everything. It looked very real to me. Come to find out it was a test for the Lifeguards. One of the Lifeguards had put the child in the water to see how long it took the other lifeguard to notice. I stood there and watched and waited for the Lifeguard to notice this dying child. It took about 2 minutes! 2 Minutes too late! This child would have been dead. I stood their and watched as everyone at the pool went on with their conversations and activities while this child went un noticed. This was a big wake up call to me! You cannot depend on a Lifeguard to save your child. You cannot depend on other people to save your child. You really need to watch your own children while at the pool. You are the only one you can depend on.  After the 2 minutes had passed, the Lifeguard jumped into the water and swam across to save the small doll child. I didn’t get a picture that day but I attached a picture I found of what the doll looked like.

CNNBC Mother of the Year!

WICKED

For Christmas my parents bought all of us (my Grandpa, Brother’s, Sister’s and Spouses) 4th row tickets to WICKED at Capitol Theatre. The show was fantastic! For some reason I got really emotional watching it this time. I cried 3 different times throughout the show. I looked over at Beau and told him “I hope I am not pregnant”. One of the songs that touched me the most was “For Good”. I listed the lyrics below. My thoughts were turned to my cute Sister in Law Amy who lost her brother about 2 months ago in a tragic plane accident. She was with us at WICKED that evening and I couldn’t help but think of her during this song. My heart was so touched by the words. I was trying not to bawl. I truly loved the message of this show…It was such a great story about loving people even if they are different from us. Thanks Mom for such a wonderful experience! I have been “changed for the better” after seeing it! If you haven’t heard this song, I highly recommend getting the CD! You won’t be disappointed!
