I have been dreaming up ideas for our unfinished basement for about 2 years now and we have finally started the process! All in a week and a half, we have ripped out a wall to open up the room, ripped out the doorway at the bottom of our stairs so we can open up our stairway, had all of our plumbing roughed in which involved jack hammering out parts of our floor “yikes”, and last but not least, the most exciting thing we are almost finished with is our beautiful polished concrete floors that they are down working on as we speak! It took us a while to find the right concrete guys and cross your fingers we think we found the best company in town. They do commercial spaces like museums, banks, grocery stores, airports etc. I have been busy talking with contractors and getting bids and checking prices on items and it has been so much fun for me. I have a binder of all my great ideas that will probably take several years to complete but at least we have started! We will be adding 2 bedrooms a Creative room and a big bathroom, a big open area for entertaining with a full kitchen and media room. It is amazing what you can negotiate when your husband has 3 major vacations for himself planned this year..including Heli – Skiing outside of Jackson Hole, Woming, Fishing trip to Alaska, and a Golf Trip to Bandon Dunes, Oregon. Here are a few items that we have on the plans!
This is the look we are going for with our concrete floors with more of a matte finish.
Here is the fireplace we have decided on that will go in our Great Room
Our partition wall will look similar to this for our creative room.
We have a different pattern in mind than the one pictured and we will use a Silver finish on the frame not black.
